And here's another "logical impossibility". How did Hitler manage to gas so many Jews and ship them off in containers and pile their hair and gold from their teeth without the general public knowing? For YEARS?How many times has the US government used it's own citizens in a chemical or biological experiment without their knowing? Sometimes it takes DECADES to surface, long after the perpetrators are dead or gone.
That's an easy one. The germans knew. Not all the details, but they would have to have been complete dunderheads to not know about the forced evacuation and robbery of their jewish neighbors. They knew, but were too proud, scared, ashamed, or sympathetic of the Nazi cause to look any closer. I lived in Germany during the mid 90's and talked with many germans who lived through it. Its still a sore subject among them. Some who were willing to talk about it told me they knew enough of what was happening to be ashamed to admit it to anyone earlier in their life. While I admit my experience with some German old-timers can't simply be broad brushed across a population, it IS a logical possibility that my sampling was indicative of the whole.
This is not Nazi germany. Not even if your worst fears about the Patriot Act were true it would not make America close to being what Nazi Germany was.
