Earth-like planet, with water, around red dwarf Gliese 581?
Earth-Like planet orbiting a red-dwarf? Here is hoping.
It seems a little close to me. Its year is 13 days long. Granted, this star is much cooler than our sun.
It also has half the mass of the Earth. Would such a planet have enough mass to hold onto its atmosphere if it was receiving enough solar radiation to keep water liquid?
I have said many times on this board not to rule out Red Dwarfs for Earth-like planets. But I thought it could be decades before we had any evidence.
