Space/Science — HabitableZone

Space/Science » in reply to Earth-like planet, with water, around red dwarf Gliese 581?

Two interesting facts...

Red dwarfs are stable far longer than other types of stars. A planet around such a star would have a much longer time, billions of years, for life to evolve.

Red dwarfs are the most common type of star in the galaxy. Three-fourths of the stars in our galaxy are red dwarfs. We just found one with a planet in the "habitable zone."

Things to think about.
