Facts matter but so does passion

The former keeps things on a more even keel; the latter gets the ball rolling when things need to be done. We must clean up our environment before it's too late. If you want to wait until it becomes critical, it's already too late.

Every animal, plant and bug matters. This is an interdependent world. When they kill off predators in an area, the deer population will rise, then the deer starve. That hurts me. I can't stand to hear about starving children and I can't stand it when animals starve. In a world of plenty, no one should starve. But look at the changing climate. Whether it's caused by global warming or simply exacerbated by global warming doesn't really matter. Food may become scarce. And expensive. When people can't feed their children, they fight over resources. And so begins the descent into hell.

We were supposed to be caretakers of this planet and the life on it. We haven't done a very good job. Man fouls his own nest. We may be slated for extinction. It won't happen overnight; it will probably be slow and insidious with changes that will not be pleasant. It may take a 1,000 years but I really don't think mankind will survive. Or perhaps a few will and the world will be rebuilt again. That could be what Adam and Eve were, survivors who had no knowledge of the world that came before.

If you rely only on facts, you give up the process of creative thinking. Creative thinking could well be our savior.
