Something to think about.
Not exactly what you described--I know all about people like that woman. Given what she hears on "The View, " "Oprah," or "60 Minutes," compared to the dry, quiet facts some poor engineer tries to tell her, there's no contest. It's why demagogues have so much success in this world.
My problem seems to be is that I thought people here weren't like that. I have indeed been beating my head against a brick wall.
Ironically, it's a textbook case of an emotional response winning out over months of observation and facts.
Maybe I've finally got it now.
