re: I don't actually believe in such "probes"
Every action could be observed, both past/present just like the I Love Lucy broadcast that began in 1952 - if one has the right equipment to identify, interpret and sort the vast quantity of signals Earth leaves (and has left) in its wake, beaming into space, that act as a recorder of all that has been. Just like a footprint left in the mud, Earth activities leave a trail in the cosmos for those who know what to look for.
Drones would be for relatively unadvanced worlds and not galaxy spacefaring cultures.
That fly was just preparing for his next meal and enjoying the ambience of the dining area.
