That's not how it works.

"You get really testy when offered earth-side ideas that MIGHT support your long posts on the possibility of ET life".

I don't want someone to tell me something that supports my ideas. Especially if I have no way of knowing whether or not they just made it up. I want someone to tell me something I can do to prove my idea. I have certain reasons for believing there are extra-terrestials, but I don't know if I'm right or wrong. I don't want people to tell me I'm right. I want people to show me I'm right. Can't you see the difference?

I don't want to hear stories of this guy's Silicon Valley experiences. I want an address I can drive to and look at the stuff. Even better, I want him to ship me the stuff so I can take it apart myself.

That's how science works. I don't want people to tell me they heard ET call on the radio. I want them to tell me where to point my radio telescope and which frequency to listen at. Until I, or a lot of people I know and trust hear it, it's just hearsay.

Let's say I went out one night and saw a UFO (you can substitute here Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster, a ghost, or Jesus) that absolutely and completely convinced me it was the real thing. It might make a believer out of me, but I wouldn't expect anyone else to take my word for it. The sentence I quoted from your post above uses the word "support" . The support I seek is more than just agreement.

When people tell me what I want to hear and don't show me how to check it out myself I know I'm being lied to, and that should make anybody angry. That's where the AVERSION comes from. This is why we geeky science types get so pissed off with anomalists, they always tell you what they saw but they never tell you where to look for yourself. And then they accuse you of being closed-minded when you won't take their word for it.
