Why Alnitak?

According to this Web page:

http://www.astro.uiuc.edu/~kaler/sow/alnitak.html

Alnitak is a blue supergiant star that is only about 6 million years
old and isn't long for this galaxy.

Unless someone happens to be visiting the system, I doubt you
would fnd any life there that has a radio transmitter or TV station.

As for Mr. Cheasley, he is welcome to throw his theory on the
ETI pile, but he needs to start coming up with some real evidence
if he wants it to get beyond theory.

As for music as a communications method, I would think music
would be very subjective - just look at how different music is
around this planet.

Of course that didn't stop the makers of the Voyager Record
from putting a collection of world music on the golden disc.
What an ETI will make of it, though, is another matter.
