re: Why Alnitak?

Why do I think Alnitak doesn't have any intelligent technological life?

Because as I said in my previous post, the star is only 6 million years
old and, being a blue supergiant, is probably going to go supernova in
just a few million more years.

Earth life took 4 billion years to get to the point where one of its
species could even start doing SETI. Planets take millions of years
just to form a solid sphere and cool down enough to even start
having simple life forms, let alone anything complex.

Maybe life evolved really fast around a planet circling Alnitak and
maybe the planet cooled down and became life-friendly real fast,
but I doubt it. Read the page I linked to again in my last post
about conditions near a blue supergiant star. Your only bet is
someone visiting that system, but then why would they be
transmitting to Earth from there?

If you are looking for ETI like us, then at the least you should be
aiming your radio telescope at middle-aged yellow dwarf stars.

As for music, you and I and the human race may like it, but that
is quite an assumption to make for an alien species. If they like
music at all, it may not sound (or look) anything like we would
recognize as such.
