"For you to stay on this "Clinton did it" tack as a debating technique is just fucking stupid and ineffective."
I'm just saying that if you "buy" "the fact that Bush's bunch (a very close circle) may have known or suspected the attack was coming and did nothing to stop it".
What other than your bias is stopping you from thinking Clinton's bunch wasn't involved also- after all Clinton appointed people continued working in the Bush administration.
You have zero evidence of what you are claiming.
And we do have Sandy Berger stuffing things in his pants- I don't think this is a smoking gun that proves something in particular in this regard, but at least it is a shred of evidence pointing in this general direction.
"n April 2005, Berger plead guilty to a misdemeanor charge of unauthorized removal and retention of classified material from the National Archives in Washington. According to the lead prosecutor in the case Berger only took copies of classified information and that no original material was destroyed, however there is notable controversy and speculation that he might have removed or destroyed originals of other unknown documents as well."
...
"Berger served as Senior Foreign Policy Advisor to Governor Clinton during the campaign, and as Assistant Transition Director for National Security of the 1992 Clinton-Gore Transition. During Clinton's first term of office (1993-1997), Berger served as deputy national security advisor, under Anthony Lake in the National Security Council. In Clinton's second term of office, Berger succeeded Lake as Special Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs from 1997 to 2001"

Sandy Berger would fit your description of "very close circle" of Clinton.
Keep in mind a very close circle of George Bush including a guy who ran a horse show- unless you believe that is some cover story and he actually worked with the CIA and THE ALIENS.
Next we have:
"George John Tenet (born January 5, 1953) was previously the Director of Central Intelligence for the United States Central Intelligence Agency and is Distinguished Professor in the Practice of Diplomacy at Georgetown University. Tenet held the position as the DCI from July 1997 to July 2004, making him the second-longest serving director in the agency's history — behind Allen Welsh Dulles — as well as one of the few DCIs to serve under two U.S. presidents of opposing political parties."

But the people who actually do the work of intelligence have been in the bureaucracy for decades and people assigned leadership position within the intelligence community which are mostly out of the public spotlight would be affected by 8 years of the Clinton administration and with only 6 months of Bush being in office this group would barely affected in any significant way in such a short period of time.
