fly well for one really compelling reason - power to weight ratio. The construction of every component in an airplane has weight as a major consideration even in wheels and engines. The lightweight materials they use in that construction, when slammed into immovable objects at 5 - 600 mph disintegrate. Most air crashes do not occur at such huge rates of speed that these airliners experienced in their final seconds. Often times flight crews are fighting for maintaining lift and airspeed is dropping rapidly. Almost never is a plane flown at full throttle into its final resting place.

The evidence you cite is compelling when you see snippets of it as everyone got when the pieces to the puzzle started emerging but later evidence made most of the claims laughable. On sites now linked to by the same guys that brought us "Loose Change" are videos of the PLANE hitting the Pentagon and the text of the testimony from scores of eyewitnesses that describe in detail the PLANE they saw plowing into the side of that building. Yet, the true conspiracy nuts I've heard on local talk radio and on Libertarian websites, still harp on the fact that no pieces of the plane were found and some still believe a missile hit the place. I do not think you to be of that ilk Lindy. I simply hear some of the same things you are saying from that wacko fringe and was warning you that you'll get linked in with them if you're not really careful to weigh all sides of the evidence and hit everything with a big dose of common sense.

Sorry if it appeared I was putting you down. I got really frustrated recently when I heard a talk show host I enjoyed spouting this madness and wanted to vent a bit about how people on the left often shoot themselves in the foot by buying into every rash theory that fits their cause. Your post just reminded me of that frustration again.
