aka "Clinton Derangement Syndrome". It's long been apparent that if you want to know what skullduggery Republicans are up to, just listen to what they accuse Democrats of doing. The pattern suggests a preemptive defense: "Those evil Democrats have already done the bad thing I'm planning to do (so it's not evil when I do it)".

The case of BDS versus CDS seems like a combination of that anticipatory ass-covering with simple projection: Republicans are so deranged on the subject of Bill Clinton that they can't imagine that Democrats could feel any other way about Bush, and hope that charges of BDS will obscure and excuse their own CDS.

Yep, I groan and roll my eyes too when I hear it. It's so pathetically transparent a whine that Republicans come across as kindergartners trying to snowjob an adult.

I confess that every time I see Bill Clinton mobbed by adoring crowds, I think of how it must gall Republicans to see their hatred repudiated so often by so many people. Bill Clinton's a permanent rebuke to Republicanism from A to Z.
