Obvious.
Harry Reid does not "run the Senate".
Two. The Senate Majority Leader is not the same office as President of the United States. There are far more checks and balances, for instance, and he can be removed much more easily.
Three. The people of the United States did not elect Harry Reid. He was elected by the people of the State of Nevada. His qualifications were their concern, not those of the broader public.
As for a politician being Mormon, I have some concerns. Read the "Book of Mormon" and ask yourself what kind of person could believe that. For that matter, read the Old Testament and ask yourself who could believe that, or would profess to believe it. Is "God" so weak, powerless and obtuse that He had to communicate it such an ineffectual way to so few people?
