Bowser's points were wrong. Assuming ANY of you are actually being remotely honest about this, the issue is religion, and how it could cause problems with a person who has a lot of political power.
"Public figure" doesn't have jack to do with it, unless you think the President is going to convert America to Mormonism by making TV speeches at them.
It's about making and passing laws that might be influenced by a lawmaker's religion. You can't say that a Mormon president is a serious danger but somehow a Mormon Senate leader is no danger at all. Somehow I suspect that if Reid were running for President, the issue would never have come up for liberals.
Which brings us back to the truth: Democrats don't worry about Reid because they know he's not any more of a real Mormon than Hillary Clinton is an actual Methodist.
