Your points "one" and "two" don't hold up. There is no way you can tell me that the leader of the Senate has less to do with creating legislation that affects my life and freedom than the President does. The President can suggest legislation, and he can block legislation, but that's it.
Even assuming Republicans vote every time as a solid block (and they don't), Harry Reid is currently about nine Democratic Senators away from veto-proof power in the Senate, and we've already seen what comes out of Pelosi's House.
Your point three is meaningless. What difference does it make how someone got into office? Isn't the point a supposed concern about what a Mormon would do with national-level political power?
Nobody will step up and admit that there is only one reason a Presidential candidate is getting endless grief about his religion, while a Senate Majority Leader actually in power right here and now is getting none: The usual rank hypocrisy on the part of liberals.
