you got your life back

Jody, you have a remarkable story and one that I expect to see soon on Dr. Phil ;)

I do edmire you for what you endured and how you carried yourself about through this. I always fall short when trying to get inspirations from people like you because I cannot see myself being able to achieve that same success. So you have my total admiration for what you have accomplished.

I, myself, have considered a new years resolution. It happened while I was at the hospital last weekend. As my wife was laying on the bed, I was looking at all the instruments with a smile, cracking jokes with anyone that entered the room. And while a nurse ws in the room my wife had asked me this question:

"why are you smiling so much?"
"Well... because I love hospitals.. they are fun... they have a lot of gadgets and stuff that beeps"
"you are in a hospital for pete sake. This is not a happy place!"
"Actually unlike people that think that horrible things happen in a hospital, I look at it as a place where wonderful things happen"

that's when the nurse looked at me and mentioned that I had the perfect attitude to be working there.

So I am currently going through the process of filling out documentation to be a volunteer for my local hospital. 4 hours a week. doesn't sound too bad, but I have to commit to it for at least 6 months straight.
