If I did a study on car stealing, and only looked at statistics on minorities to "prove" that minorities are the worst car thieves, I would be hounded out of the room, and properly so.
That is surely one of your lamest attempts at an exculpatory analogy. It can only be warped into some relation to reality if we accept as a given your implied premise that everybody is equally guilty of the act in question, whether stealing cars or telling liesmaking false statements. But you're trying to lump chop shops and fences and innocent buyers of stolen goods in the same category as the people who actually steal the cars. Lame, thoroughly lame.
To repair the analogy: The study collected statistics about car theft by looking at the statistics for car theft.
