"Truce?" Must have missed that.

A look at the report home page (close the splash page) shows that the media has already eagerly snapped this up, including, as I predicted, Olbermann.

I think the history of this has already been "revised" somewhat. Your little chart shows that. Like I said, the intelligence committees had their own briefing pipelines to the original intelligence sources, particularly in the CIA. Down the road, it became politically convenient to pretend they knew nothing and that all of this was a big surprise. If you remember other news items, they used the same "I know nothing!" gambit on their briefings on waterboarding and the NSA program. Rockefeller in particular has played politics this way.

"Rumsfeld made me do it" isn't any more impressive or accurate than "Clinton made me do it."

As far as learning lessons on fearmongering, I might direct your attention to the current economic and climate hysteria. Using fear as a political weapon is not uniquely confined to Republicans, or the war on terror.

You're convincing me that Kucinich is right to once again file Articles of Impeachment over this. Forgive-and-forget isn't working, so we need the kind of definite closure a Senate trial would bring. Wouldn't you anticipate final vindication if Bush gets his day in court? What's to fear if he didn't really lie?

It might be interesting to see what new evidence the Democrats could come up with after several years of intensive trying to get "Bush lied" to actually stick. How'd that work out in 2004?

Kucinich is going to try another impeachment attempt again in a few days. His last impeachment attempt was squashed by his own party, and this one will be too.
