Two points concerning poverty.
First off, poverty is relative. What we would consider poverty may not be considered poverty to some other culture. For many have a dirt floor hut and several pigs, goats, and/or cattle, is considered high society.
Secondly, in many many instances, poverty is self inflicted. Stupid decisions and actions have consequences. To totally eliminate poverty in our society would require that government have total control over people so as to mitigate all responsibility for poor decisions.
