and I can rationalize it by the little amount of time my life affords me to just veg on a computer. With any of those animation and graphically rich games, I want to see all it has to offer so I generally go and find a walkthrough. I'll challenge myself a bit to see if there's any obvious solutions but I just don't have the time to really spend on it so, as soon as I start to get stumped, I simply look up which way to go.
Same thing with shoot-em-ups. I'll see what it's like without cheating and usually you get blown away fast. I have no doubts that with pretty good hand-eye coordination I can master the skills required to become skilled at the game so I feel no pressing need to practice the days it'll take to move on so, off to the internet to find the cheat codes. Next thing you know you're armed to the teeth, in God-mode so nothing can hurt you, have the ability to light up all the dark corridors and you just roam around blowing things up and getting a really good view of the work the programmers put into it.
As they say, all's fair in love and war especially the simulated variety.
