I had to look something up on the first Myst game, but it was so long ago I've forgotten what I had to look up.
I beat Riven and Myst II with no cheats or help at all. Jury's still out on the other ones (barely started).
Still think Riven's the best one so far.
I don't find "shooters" appealing. Only "shooter" I've played was the original Star Wars "Dark Forces." I beat it on "hard" mode, but used one cheat: the map that shows where the bad guys and goodies are. Had to redo levels many times, but the good news was that a sort of "Groundhog Day" effect develops where you know what's coming and can create plans to deal with it.
I do like watching my son play shooters, though. He's damn good, and has a good brain for puzzles, too. Modern shooters have more flexibility--when you redo a level, the landscape may be the same but the bad guys might be hiding in entirely different places.
