I'm not about to try to explain to you where the money goes in the oil industry. Lord knows it's been tried.
If a bag of ice in a hurricane disaster zone costs ten bucks, it just might reflect the difficulty of getting ice into a hurricane disaster zone. Certainly you're welcome to go get ice somewhere else. Maybe a charitable organization will bring it in (quite likely.) That doesn't make the ice free, it just means someone else (probably a millionaire donor) is paying the ten bucks. If the government brings in the ice, it isn't free either. The taxpayer picks up the ten bucks.
Of course, it's only "fair" if you get ice you don't have to pay for. That someone else pays an extravagent price for it somewhere offstage where you can't see is just fine by you.
The shutdown of domestic offshore and Alaska oil exploration, the shutdown of the Utah coal fields, the shutdown of our nuclear development, and other things I could list is due to Democratic/liberal policies over the past decades. Period. This isn't a "rewrite" of history. Just simple fact.
