Lindy, this pi thing is math translated into art. Art obviously done by people who use the same annotation as us such as the decimal point, the 3 dots at the end to indicate that the numbers continue indefinitely. Once converted to art using very special, but arbitrary, rules the only people who could possibly decode it are people who use similar rules, annotation, and last of all a base 10 numbering system. Earthlings did this, of that I'm very certain. The whole spiral thing is just a fancy way of showing pi, but other than that has no more value than if it were written out in roman numerals or in any other symbol. Pi in a number other than base 10 would be a compltely different number. The math to deduce pi is the same (circumferance of a circle divided by it's diameter), it just wouldn't be 3.14... anymore.

- Why "a seminal event?"
- Well, maybe it boggles some minds
- 8 segments doesn't work for our base 10 number system though.
- Sure it does. This isn't numbers, it's graphics.
- It's just for a freehand doodler to divide a circle in eight segments than ten. Try it.

- Why do you suppose they are getting more complex? (n/t)
- re: Why do you suppose they are getting more complex?
- Not complex, just irrational.
- They're just getting better at making them.
