Who says they haven't been detected?
What if they can read thought processes? Brain waves? With no distance barriers?
Just because we are still in the early stages of electronic thought transfer, doesn't mean that "they" haven't perfected it.
Some of the earlier years among researchers seemed to PROVE that "they" (whatever "it" is, for want of a better word), were actually "listening" to the discussions among researchers about the circles as they progressed, and often would appear as they "thought" it might. I was involved with one of the earliest projects, a Barbury Castle formation back in 1992 (I think), where certain researchers designed and drew out a formation and then meditated on it to see if the phenomena was reading their brain waves, and the exact same formation showed up the very next morning about a half mile away.
If the government was doing this, they'd have to have been listening in to the researchers and been able to pinpoint the location, and shoot it down by satellite to the exact location. Now why would you suppose they would do that?
Frankly, if they had some beam weapon as accurate and as controllable as that, they'd be blowing up buildings in Iraq from space.

- Most complex crop circle ever discovered in British fields
- COOL New Circle
- Don't the farmers get pissed?
- Progression
- Why "a seminal event?"
- Well, maybe it boggles some minds
- 8 segments doesn't work for our base 10 number system though.
- Sure it does. This isn't numbers, it's graphics.
- It's just for a freehand doodler to divide a circle in eight segments than ten. Try it.

- Humans?
- Woudl aliens have 10 fingers and toes? Or even fingers and toes?

- Why do you suppose they are getting more complex? (n/t)
- re: Why do you suppose they are getting more complex?
- Not complex, just irrational.
- They're just getting better at making them.
