Correlations notwithstanding, loony New Age philosophies are not the result of left wing politics, any more than Creationist superstitions are the result of right wing politics. The Right is not interested in getting the Left out of the schools, they are interested in getting the Left out of everything. It's people like myself, educated by these Left wing universities that are the Right's real problem. They can no longer dismiss them as disgruntled employees, street criminals or bomb-throwing anarchists. Like it or not, there is an alternative view of the universe, a coherent challenge to your world view, and it is long overdue.

That is why the Right hates the sixties, for the first time in history the children of the working class were educated in large numbers, and the Right knows it was done with their tax money, which doubly infuriates them. They know now there's no way it could have turned out any other way. And if they get their way, they will never let it happen again.
