See, this is where it all breaks down. This is where all the liberal "everyone should be free to do what they want" hoists itself on its own petard.
What you are really saying is that above a certain amount of money earned the state or some other "entity" should determine how that money is spent. Your money is your own - only up until some arbitrary amount and then it is everyone else's.
For example, if I want to build skyscrapers, and employ thousands when I am done, I may need every penny of my multi-million dollar per year salary. Yet, to the liberals I am just another rich person whose earned money is no longer my own. My project gets shot to Hades because a new tax increase loots my accounts and disperses the money to those who earn less and who, by their very nature - do not create wealth.
This is the total folly of liberalism and the loot the rich mindset. They only end up looting the nation of more jobs, a better infrastructure, and a wealthier populace.
Looting is not the answer.
There is NO arbitrary amount of earning at which another man has the right to point a gun at the other and take anything he wants. That's thinly concealed barbarism - the law of the jealous jungle aborigine.
People who believe in the "loot the rich" nonsense end up as working class stiffs their entire life. They never figured out how to "create wealth" and simply satisfied themselves taking bucks from a guy on the ladder above them. It's because they have never "created wealth" where there was none before, that they don't value others who possess this skill and think they are just "luckier" or "more corrupt" and deserve this injustice.
It's sad because they end up impoverishing everyone. We have enough proof of this now to know that the socialist system on large scales just don't pan out.
