what is true is that; if you never open your eyes you will never see anything.

A somewhat parallel concept to that would be that; if you never open your mind to new thoughts you will never understand anything new.

Why are you closing your mind to new thoughts?
Are you afraid that new information will shake or destroy your belief system?
