Considering how many times I get lectured on "black and white thinking," I see a lot of it around here.

The conservative alternative to "more government power" isn't total anarchy and the rule of The Lord Humungous.

It's less government power.

There's a huge range of options to be discussed here, but right now we're only moving in one direction. And faster every minute.

A totally libertarian nation? If you mean a nation with no government at all, there's never been such a thing. However, there have been many nations and cultures with a lot fewer government controls.

Hong Kong thrived for years with far fewer regulations than we have now. Hell, the U.S. thrived for years with far fewer regulations and government agencies than we have now, and I'm talking in my own lifetime.
