It hasn't escaped my notice that the "proposed solutions" for every crisis or widespread problem we face always seem to involve more power to a centralized authority, more wealth confiscation and redistribution, and loss of individual choice and freedom. Go ahead, try to find an exception.
If we were really looking for a solution to dependence on foreign oil, using available domestic resources would be a big part of the solution, particularly in the short term. Is that happening?
If we were really looking for a solution to large-scale reliable energy without CO2, nuclear power would be a big part of the solution. Is it?
Heck, for the almost $800 billion they just spend on a "stimulus," we could be building space solar power satellites.
