re: Let Me Make It Simpler

Union strength has waned and so have middle class wages, but I don't expect you to see a connection. I personally see it more as a cultural change favoring the ultra wealthy (huge pay raises for CEOs and next to none for everyone else), but I have to concede the unions may have a point. I've seen many union pushed issues which I consider counter productive or short sited, but I have no doubt industry pays as little as possible or that unions helped create a strong middle class.

I kind of think a lot of the lessons I learned in elementary school have been stupidly forgotten or buried in PC and partisan BS . Things like:

Power corrupts so the founding fathers created a balance of power in the government.
Appeasing tyrants and thugs doesn't work.
Banks and stock trading need to be regulated to assure adequate margins and truthful profit claims to keep another depression from happening.
Believing free markets police themselves creates huge profiteering bubbles, fraudulent enterprise, and unsafe products.

Mark
