... was not impossible to make by a human. I keep thinking of the line
in Ghost Busters where the team finds groups of library books in tall
stacks and while some of them say it is from spectral activity, Bill
Murray's character retorts that no human could stack books like that.

Crop circles are fringe and there is no proof they were made by anything
having to do with outer space. I really hope you did not take my
speculations as acceptance that they were or are. They were more of
a thought experiment and getting away from the same old arguments
than anything else.

They are intricate. Someone took a long time making them. But they
are not evidence of an alien intelligence. You really need to capture
them in the actual act of making one before most people are going to
buy that idea seriously.
