It seems most folks who believe inalien life are liberal. Often very liberal.
The alien worlds I know all run on an almost Rand-esque philosophy of individual determination. The government is very small and the people govern themselves. Here the government when it becomes more liberal progressively takes away freedom and individual determination. One has to remember on these worlds they know about past lives and that no one is born with a clean slate. They often know the histories of their citizens - the good and the bad. They do not discriminate because they understand everyone at some point in their learning curve evolves awayf from violence, murder, hate, etc. They also understand the repercussions of capital punishment and the cycle of violence that propagates from those who feel persecuted and then persecute others.
So the governments of these world don't interfere much. This becomes the most intelligent form of government - a government that becomes almost invisible.
And on these worlds where communication is by thought, a whole new ethics develops. Here folks lie because they can get away with it. It fosters a type of thinking that employs lies as a viable course of action. When lying is impossible - the mind is shaped differently. You ADDRESS differences and all the conflicts. Coming right out and saying what you think is automatic. The desire to deceive, omit or censor oneself is not developed on the worlds a bit up the ladder, so to speak.
Criminal thoughts are recognized in childhood and can immediately be addresses. The emotions that sponsor acts that would be considered illegal can be put under the microscope when the child is still in a formative period.
Knowing these things and knowing how so many governments fail the masses, I support the GOP - but only when they act like the party of less government and less interference into individuals lives. When a government feels it knows better than the masses it is headed towards a totalitarian state. Oh, sure, the chains may be put on slowly and for "good" reasons but chains are still chains and a government that adds more and more laws and interferes with all aspects of the masses activities - is an unintelligent government that leads to oppression, which leads to violence and conflict.
These worlds care for their people but they free them almost completely - and expect more of them as a result.
When someone knows they are free and are individually, totally responsible for their own success or failure in all they do - they tend to do better, look closer, evaluate more diligently and educate themselves more completely.
These worlds know that their own actions, if unintelligent or negative, will grow larger and that they will be the source of all their suffering. They don't look for others or a government to control people to do the right thing - and none of them complain about 'fairness' or inequality. They know fully well their position in all things is self-determined and not the result of fate, persecution or some public organization, industry, etc.
Most of these worlds are not utopias. But the 'crime' rate is almost non-existent next to a world like ours. And crimes that do occur are treated differently. Incarceration is used only for violent individuals who pose a danger. However most of these worlds have no prisons. Technology permits them to be incarcerated in their own abode and still function, work and interact with the world in a somewhat reduced manner.
The economic standards of these worlds are diverse but all generally are based on individual labor for compensation. Because energy is almost infinite on these worlds, food stuff is abundant, housing is ample and labor is performed to a large degree by machines and robots. The extremely hard labor found on this world is rare on those whose technology exceeds ours by even just a thousand years or so. So labor takes on a whole new meaning. The creative things we enjoy, such as drama, writing, dance and fillm are considered more serious careers alongside the scientific ones. Making people think in new ways or helping them grow is revered and jobs often revolve around these goals of creating an ever more intelligent citizenry.
Science is revered as well, because they know science is the key to unlocking the secrets of the universe and each breakthrough offer to make their lives more rich, productive and exciting.
At this time, I look at both parties and naturally am disappointed, though I understand the limitations of those who function selfishly - because of fears. However, I generally vote against a government that likes to add more laws and with each law written, strike down more freedom - even when it is supposedly done for the greater good. An intelligent government frees its people and provides them with ever more knowledge, so that they use this freedom wisely.
Folks like Rand come from a world where such freedoms exist and then set up being born in Russia to emphasize the contrast. This then spurs them to speak out and make a difference. It's not business over labor, religion over science or some other thing that drives these folks - it is this super STRONG sense of what ethics apply to a beings individual liberty.
On this world, we still need the jails and the armies. The minds here have not advanced as fast as the technology and humanity is still playing catch up.
So that's why I vote Republican. Not because of abortion, religion or guns. Because of the two, one, the DNC, is fundamentally flawed in seeking more power for government at the expense of the people and believes in forced equality which flies in the face of the absolute truth - that each is responsible for their own treatment, success, failure or circumstances. This makes the DNC more destructive to folks evolutionary trajectory. If people tell you you are not to blame for your problems they will never address them and will retrogress. From a spiritual standpoint starvation and poverty are far better than enforced equality. It is far easier for folks who embrace the reality of life and individual determination than those who are indoctrinated into pointing the fingers at others for their problems.
This world suffers from this lack of spiritual perspective and so material circumstances are the basis for all decisions. Without perspective - the worlds perfect balances are declared horribly imbalanced and force is applied to balance thingsthat unbeknownst to the forcers are already balanced and being addressed!
There's more going on than the material eye sees. The all-seeing eye sees this balance in every starving child, every birth defect and every accident. When beings have this at their disposal their actions make a huge jump in effectiveness. Good intentions - which the DNC and their membership often have in spades - is not enough. One needs to see that forcing equality is in itself an inequality. That trying to balance scales that are already being balanced - only adds to the imbalance.
The DNC means well but fosters a path that all to often leads to digression for the world and its inhabitants.
So those are the reasons.
