TB, we have always lived in a society where not working was not only allowed, it was a sign of success. You know you have 'made it' when you can live off your investments.
The young, the old, the retired, the student, do not work, neither do soldiers or police or dozens of other essential but non-productive people. In fact, the entire goal of the elite of this society is to not work, but to have others work for them. Its what President Bush called the "ownership class".
And not all businessmen are brave, innovative entrepreneurs creating value through sheer mental activity and moral power, either. Many are worthless drones getting fat off the surplus value of their employees. Or they are employees themselves, and just like to call themselves "businessmen".
