I gave you a specific set of parameters. In every one of these discussions you rattle off examples of "good" regulations, and if any of those examples were less than a generation old, I must have missed it.
Our government is developing into one of those that believe there is no aspect of human existence that should not be subject to their command at some level. Defining such control as "regulation" makes it sound more palatable to the simpler minds out there, but doesn't change what it really is: creeping tyranny.
I have no idea what you're talking about regarding media being "more free." If we have more options for our news and entertainment nowadays it's in spite of the control freaks, not because of them. In fact, hardly a day goes by without some mainstream media mogul getting all wistful about their old monopolies.
And simply repeating "Bush violated the Constitution" like some form of magic phrase doesn't make it any more true now than it was a couple of years ago. In any case, as far as I can tell not one of those security policies that had liberals up in arms back then has been changed to date. I guess it's okay if the right person is doing the "violating."
