Re: A sampling of my diet.

Interesting choices, Jody. Most of it's rigorously healthy, but I can also see you indulging yourself on occasion. I mean, mayo, real butter, and cream?? Jody, Jody, Jody...yet, who am I to cast the first stone? My indulgence is way too much like yours: A breakfast sandwich. Couple of places, like Subway, they're not too bad, but once in a while I crave the full-junk-food Breakfast Jack.

And I do penance. Part of my strategy is an ongoing mental accounting of the bad food I've eaten. A breakfast sandwich, or even, once in a while, a hamburger, requires me to balance it with a couple of non-meat meals, preferably salads and fresh veggies.

Simvastatin...yep, I know that one. Also Gemfibrozil, before eating, which is awkward scheduling. Half the time I forget (or didn't anticipate...I don't plan all my meals ahead of time), and take it afterward.

Going with foods with only one listed ingredient, that's an interesting strategy. And likely to work, most of the time, because you'll get the main ingredient and no additives. Not bad.
