Because there can be other reasons for losing weight and for loss of appetite. As long as you're monitored regularly, that's what's important. As an ex-smoker I know how it affects your taste buds. Unfortunately, everything tasted better after I quit. π I upped my exercise and didn't gain any weight until I had to give up exercise because I was working until 8:00 p.m. and sometimes later and then came home, ate and fell in bed. Working for an M.D. is NOT good for your health. Demanding SOB's.
It's interesting now that I'm retired, I eat an Atkins bar in the morning and maybe another fiber bar and then nothing until dinner which is usually rather late. Today, I got hungry so ate some oatmeal late morning and then got hungry around 10 (I'd had dinner around 7:00) and ate some cereal. So I'm eating when I'm hungry, which I hope is a good thing!
This retired business is weird. I need to take my own advice and get to a doctor because I'm sleeping 10 hours + every day. But I'll wait another couple of weeks and see how I continue to adjust to retirement. I know I've been exhausted for a long time.
