House Democrats flee Washington
Skirts held high, and shrieking like little girls.
The "progressives" desperately wanted to get out of Dodge without having to vote on critical tax issues. The Republicans wanted a vote, and probably had enough Democrats on board to nail it. Many Democrats defected on the vote to adjourn, requiring the Speaker to vote to break a tie.
