I don't care what Buck says. I care what Obama said, and he is going to start pulling out of Afghanistan next summer and have the troops gone in two years or less. I'm hoping the generals, like Petraeus, will talk him around.
Don't get me wrong. I think we should have troops in Iraq, and that we should maintain a combat presence as long as necessary. I just don't like the BS we're being fed about "Obama's victory."
The current Democratic Party is run by people who, if not socialists, agree with socialists on almost every issue of economics, foreign policy, and the role of the state and the individual in a nation. I find the term "statist" more useful.
It's interesting that the Left spends a lot of time neutralizing terminology to create a vacuum where they can't be defined effectively. They change their own name as often as someone who writes bad checks for a living, and for much the same reason. I wonder how long the term "progressive" is going to last before people catch on.
