Humor is tricky on the internet
While my dear wife often accuses me of becoming a prude in my old age, I have exchanged jokes as bad or worse than yours or the Lorena Bobbit type in mixed company. However, there was an intimacy (not that kind of intimacy) with that company that can't be duplicated in cyber space.
Voice inflection, facial expression and a certain type of empathy are missing on the internet and this puts some limits on our friendship and can make even a good joke almost impossible to convey.
A great thespian once said on his death bed, "dying is easy, comedy is hard". :)
