Wonder no more!
Hey, Ed!
With "10 Things I Hate About You" and "O" out there, I thought surely someone had done an adaptation/modernization of Lysistrata... and sure enough, there is a version set in the Roaring Twenties, with virtuous Athenian gangster molls. But this would have to be the best of all: a musical. Concept, characters and plot by Aristophanes, book by Larry Gelbart, music by Alan Menken. As the reviewer notes, "Aristophanes-meets-M*A*S*H*-meets-The Little Mermaid". Now that's a ticket I'd like to have!
