"I am flabbergasted that you would get bent out of shape--on principle--about being "forced" to install IE (which typically is commonly packaged with a lot of software, along with Adobe Acrobat, for reading help files) and feel that you were being unfairly dealt with by a huge and suspicious-acting corporation with greedy ulterior motives that can't be trusted to work your computer reliably."
Well, I'm glad your flabber got gasted. Gotta blow the carbon out every once in a while.
The program was a greeting card program, not a browser or OS. IE something something had NOTHING to do with the cards. There was no noticeable reason to bundle it. Robert suggested one which I either don't understand or is for an email card system.
And, you're right about part, wrong about another. MS is a predatory monolopy.
Sometimes I think I choose to die in a ditch and then go and find one. I'm not sure what was going on about the time I got into that, but it wasn't worth the energy I put into it. Must have taken my mind of something.
I'm sure they breathed a sigh of relief in Bellevue when the store refunded the price of the program. Dodged that bullet, they did. Missed that bump in the road. Wouldn't be surprised if the stock didn't go up when my suit became moot.
Lucky company. I watched the mailbox for a couple of weeks but didn't hear from Gates thanking me. What I expected, really. No gratitude.
Oh, well. You just can't do enough for some people.
