The "Third World" is largely a collection of pestholes ruled by dictators who have no problem building huge palaces for themselves while their people starve. Without capitalism, and Western businesses paying them for their resources and labor, these countries would be far worse off than they are. It is amusing to see Arab princes strutting around in limos and private jets, living off wealth given them by Western technology and businesses for the sole reason that they happened to be born on top of an oil pool.
Of course they want their debt forgiven. Of course they want us to dump vast quantities of our wealth down their gullet. Of course they want us to get down on our knees and apologize for our wealth and our freedom, for coming into their flyblown kingdoms, turning their rocks into gold, and pulling them up out of the Stone Age.
Maybe we should just agree not to trade with such people any more, so as not to corrupt and exploit them. That's what we did with Castro's Cuba. Oh, wait, they don't like that either, do they?
