I know I'm making headway with you guys when you start sidestepping and changing the subject. Dubya keeps hammering the claim that Iraq has a domestic nuclear weapons program. Now you're introducing the possibility of buying them on the black market. So you're conceding that Iraq probably doesn't have a nuke program?
and if we reveal where we think they are to inspectors - they may be moved and we will not know where to go with our first expeditionary units when the war begins.
You're logic's a bit flawed. How will informing the inspectors where to look cause them to be moved? Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle doesn't work on the macro scale.
More importantly, the UN inspectors can reach any part of Iraq in less than hour by helicopter, whereas Iraq will have at least days, if not weeks', notice of the approach of a US expeditionary force. Not only enough time to hide them, but most ghastly of all, time to use them.
Germany and France, "old-europe", will regret their positions when this is over. The oil contracts they wish to preserve - will pointedly be discarded by the new leadership.
So it is about oil after all?
Such is the risk one takes by siding against the only superpower in the world.
Yeah, I know your position, might makes right. Reminds me of the time I attended a union-organizing meeting, and listened to the union guy, named Vinnie, I kid you not, say "ya know, dez advantages ta joinin' da union, and soyten disadvantages to not joinin', if yuz gets my meanin'".
