Re: Statistics

Statistics? For people who keep things they find? Not sure such a thing is possible. I do know that when I was a kid, nobody locked their house doors or cars, and returning found money didn't get you called a "sucker."

As for the political end of it:

The leftists in our government have decreed that it is not only financially and politically useful to rip wealth from those who have more of it than the leftists have decreed they need, and give it to those the leftists have decreed need it more, but that this is actually MORAL. This is the RIGHT THING TO DO.

The "Robin Hood Principle."

Hell, most of the liberals on this board agree, whitewashing it with terms like "social responsibility," or "giving back to society." Or they soothe themselves by convincing themselves that those who have wealth must have done something bad to get it.

As a corollary, those who object to being sacrificed on the altar of wealth redistribution are viewed as evil and selfish.

Don't you see? The "Robin Hood Principle" has been raised to one of the highest foundations of the current American political system. It's the entire root of the Democratic Party (try and think of a major Democratic policy that does not involve redistribution of wealth). You don't think that the State wiping its ass with the concept of property rights isn't going to trickle down?
