I used to wrench-around on an old Kawasaki Eliminator bike. It was the best I could afford, and I had to do all my own repair work due to lack of money, but I bought a boat load of parts to keep it alive (in the frankensteinian sense, it would 0-60 in 4 the second range after I 'adjusted' it).
My Kawasaki dealer was, for the most part, a friendly good 'ol boy. He knew I was poor and he let me use his shop and tools, when he had space, to do my more complicated repairs (some of those tools can cost 1000+!).
One day he left a $100 bill on the counter. I picked it up and handed it to him, telling him he ought to be more careful with his money!
He insisted I keep it, I refused vehemently, putting it down on the counter and starting to leave (I was a little offended). He stopped me and said "here, unfold it". I did. it turned out to be, on one side, a perfect fake. On the other side there was a series of bible quotes about the evils of sinning and unbelievers going to hell. I left after dumping the bill back on the counter.
Now, I am an athiest, this at least he can claim ignorance of. I was very offended- do you see why?
An Athiest did the right thing to a moral Christian and did not steal his hard-earned money, and was told by that moral christian that all thieves are unbelievers and unbelievers will go to hell.
It was a long time before I bought anything from him again. Later, a thief broke into his shop late one night and cleand out tens of thousands of dollars worth of tools. Last I heard it was one of his 'Bikers for Jesus' budies he used to ride with on Sunday after church.
damn near makes me want to believe in a divine sense of humor....
So next time you [Tom, Larry etc] cast your judgements on others, be careful- they may come back and kick your ass.
