Getting used to death.

Atitudes toward death can be altered. Who was the Muslim mucky muck that said awhile back something to the effect that Americans love money and TV and Muslims love death?

In the days that infectious disease killed our family members on a fairly regular basis our atitude was different. We buried our dead and moved on. We didn't like it but we were better able to cope with it because it was common-place. I live every day with pain that I didn't have 20 years ago. I can handle it because I have gotten used to it.

It bothers me when a child who doesn't want to die is sent by his parents to be blown to bits because they place a higher value on things other than his life.

The IDF shouldn't use those shells. To hell with both sides. Who wouldn't like to see both sides stop hostilities this moment?

I have told you that the bombing of military targets by the Palestinians is tit for tat even if there are collateral civilian casualties. Morally it seems to be not different from what the IDF is doing.

When the Palestinian pushes the button to blow himself and x number of IDF troops to kingdom come it is somewhat likely that he was not hoping there would be more civilians around. In the same way the IDF gunner that fires the Fleshettes is aiming at what he believes to be a strategic target and not children.

If the IDF gunner deliberately fires on a school or the suicide bomber strolls into a wedding reception there is a difference to reasonable minds.

It is not nice and there is a place in hell for all concerned. Neither side is right in the way they are conducting themselves but the apparent truth remains that nothing less than total annilation of the Jewish state will satisfy the Palestinians.

Maybe the Jews should just give up and move to S. Dakota. That would be fine with me.
