Before you get too damn excited about flechettes, it should be noted that, as far as I have been able to find out, a grand total of ten civilians have been killed in Gaza by such weapons.

One single suicide bomber beats that count. Using, incidentally, bombs routinely packed with nails and shrapnel, and set off in randomly selected groups of innocent civilians, selected deliberately and with forethought and long planning.
