>Masada was a siege, though, not an attack. Same principle, don't you think?
when I think of those ancient Jews, I'm reminded of the quote "I don't know what they do to the enemy, but they sure scare the hell out of me" .. Masada is especially important to Jewish nationalism, but I'm not the suicidal fanatic type myself - probably too cowardly and complacent.
Anyway, comparing Israel to Ancient Rome is not watertight - unless you believe Israel is imperialist or expansionist. My own angle is to highlight terrorism against civilians. And as I've said before I don't believe Israel is the one deliberately doing this.
One other thing -
>There's something very wrong with a world which condemns a people for defending themselves from ethnic cleansing with the only weapons delivery system they have, their own bodies, against an army, armor, air force, helicopters, rockets, and artillery.
.. I think you should consider where this argument places you personally and morally. Remember, they are murdering civilians, not fighting a revolutionary war against the state (in the sense that Castro or the Sandinistas arguably did). Think about it Bowser ..
