If I said I was leaving you would be quite right to say "Don't let the dooor hit you in the ass on the way out". I may be on a death watch but I am not leaving. If the thing really goes to hell I might take the opportunity to blow the cover on some fiction related to HZ.
I will not identify the 6-7 but I will give you some clues and you can figure it out for yourself.
!. A political whore (gender non-specific) who insults our intelligence by denying political motivation
2. A deluded anomalist who never found a conspiracy he didn't like.
3. Dumb, Dumb, Dumb, painfully, embarrassingly, dumb.
4. An effete, pseudo intellectual, nihlistic, creep.
5. A cut and paste intellectual, without a clue who just pops in to pile on.
6. A self centered egotist that is starting to resemble those that he claims to dislike.
The list does not include you, who I find irritating at times but not really insulting. It does not include Bowser who loves diversity in all things but American opinion and will not hesitate to inject his political opinion on any board with or without provocation and roll his eyes at all who disagree with him. He's okay, good guy, lousy disposition. It does not include the gentle Raoul who bemoans insults but has become quite adroit at insulting America without much insight into what we are and what we are about. I welcome his opinion on the war and world affairs because that effects him but his insight into our culture is at best perhaps better than his Belgan barber.
I still maintain that certain liberals are more personally insulting than the conservatives. When the libs talk about personal insults Ed is always mentioned. Okay I agree. Other's mentioned in your post were probably in most cases making a general comment which you rightly or wrongly chose to take as a personal insult. I would have to see each one. I can certainly appreciate that what is considered an insult differes among people. You can call me a pompous ass or an ass-hole or an SOB all day long and it doesn't faze me but I might cry foul to take a point. I would agree that coward is not something I care for.
The most irritating thing about you and Bowser and some others is the inability to realize that the same set of facts may say different things to different people and you don't have a corner on insight. Some people are ashamed of George Bush while literally millions of others have totally different feelings after watching the same press conference. There are stupid people in the world but stupidity is not required to see things differently. If you disagree with Bowser you are a "true believer", a dunce. In his case it has become meaningless, I am numb to it. :)
I have listened when MA and others said that they feel insulted by being grouped as unpatriotic or cowards and I have tried to avoid that. I still think that direct ad hominem like stupid, moron, obtuse are more offensive and that has been more the province of liberals. One of the above offenders said it was required for conservatives.
I can promise you and any others around here that if I beat my head against a brick wall in vain trying to make you understand my opinion on the war or any other issue, I will never call you stupid for holding to your opinion. I may wonder why you can't see what seems obvious to me but I will never question your right to believe what you choose.
