"I doubt that Lee wants to fire up the ovens but he does not seem to fully appreciate the depravity and utter stupidity of the Nazi movement and sees only the bright and shining beacon of a homogeneous world with his ticket prepaid and punched."
No, I do not want to fire up the ovens, and yes I do fully appreciate (as in understand) what the Nazis did. My interest with the Nazis is more with the ideal of what they could have been and not with the actual reality of what they did. A good idea gone terribly wrong. I long for the rallies, not the camps.
A system like National Socialism couldn't work in our world, it's much too divided and fractured, but I'm not thinking of this world. For me space is as much a part of my political philosophy as it is a distination, an infinite frontier with more than enough room for any and everyone. Imagine a new world settled by one people with a single culture and unencumbered with the baggage of thousands of years of history. A clean slate for a fresh start from which a single and uniform society could emerge. This is my idea of Utopia.
From your words, I see that you too view the notion of a homogeneous world with more than just a passing fancy.
